Spring is fast approaching and Sporty's is gearing up for another great year. Picnics are a great way for a company to show it's appreciation to it's employees and to their families. Sporty's Catering specializes in picnics from 60-2000. This year were excited to add a new enticement for companies to partake in, you can add BBQ Baby Back Ribs for a special price AND still get the FREE ICE CREAM CART everyone loves. ( I've seen companies "Special order" ice cream trucks, spending thousands of dollars) With grill on site of 100 or more folks.....it come with....ABSOLUTELY FREE. Book early as we limit our picnics to two per day and during peak times of graduation season one per day. First come, first get on the FREE ICE CREAM CART, as we have only one of those with the bells and umbrella!
Our History:
Catering took off several years ago with the creation of our "Famous Sportys Chicken". (We had been catering the Italian Beef and Subs at that time). In 1993 a local church asked us to create something special for their new rededication and so it began (this after successfully running a restaurant since 1980). Our restaurant soon became a thing of the past and we concentrated 100% of our time on catering. From a 2 page catering menu to over 32 pages. Actually created by you, the consumer.
We like to term ourselves "The proud, the few, the Sportys crew". A lot of personal attention and planning goes into our food preparation. Whether its planning for a wedding or picnic 6 months from now or someone who calls and needs food in 2 hours we strive to make everyone happy. Our wait staff are the personnel who work for us, not "hired" out folks who have "no clue".

NEW NEW......BBQ PULLED CHICKEN SANDWICH.......BBQ sause with special smoked flavoring.................
Sporty's is not only famous for it's Chicken Tenders but also for it's Italian Beef, slow roasted, medium rare, sliced paper thin (unlike the other guy with all the hot dog stands that sells mush beef, cold gravy). Our gravy is prepared fresh daily, served hot, the right amount of spices and don't forget the Garlic! The sweet peppers are gently steamed in a blend of oils and herbs and, don't forget the Garlic and another spice that I can't tell you about.
The Pulled Pork sandwich can be served on a traditional bun or onion roll or mini buns. Slathered in Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce..........and a touch of....oops can't say.......mouthwatering.

A note, as we hear this more and more. Folks often ask us if they "order 2 servings, do you get full servings of each entree"? With Sporty's Catering the answer is yes. With other caterers they don't want you to ask the question, they'd rather you look at the price and "think" your getting a better deal. A St. Charles company had our food for the first time. They had wait staff service this past Christmas at 7:00pm, 1:00am, and lunch for 300. "An unqualified success, the food was above and beyond, outstanding. Even the yearly folks who bash the food loved everything! The wait staff were not just hired droids who just stood there and knew nothing" These folks knew everything about the food and really cared about serving our personnel. Sporty's Catering is a definate must for all our catering in 2011." (Note: this company in December 2011 did not 300 this Christmas but 900 employee!!)
Tired of "rubbery Beef or Ham or Turkey" from a lower priced caterer. We pay a premium price for "real" All Natural Roast Beef and "real" center cut, all white meat Turkey not just processed meats. We want you to know that at Sporty's Catering we are forging ahead and keeping prices as low as possible AND even lowering some prices while maintaining our high standard of quality.
Based on the comments above, we do have folks who call us and "are on a really tight budget". The comments go from, "The other catering's X company menu is 2 pieces of chicken, potato salad and cole slaw for $3.49pp." Let's analyze this, Sporty's can buy chicken in several sizes, Fact: X company uses the smallest chickens, hence smaller pieces., Sporty's the largest, 3 lbs..
Fact: Do you really want someone to have for their dinner a scrawney wing and leg on their plate for dinner?
Fact: Do you want processed Salads like potato salad or cole slaw or homemade, at Sportys, Salads?
Fact: A company recently called and said their budget for lunch was $240.00 for 60 people including delivery and sales taxes. $4.00pp. Do you really think you can provide a quality, even semi quality meal for less than $4.00pp. We suggested the ala carte meal.
X company wants your business now, not in the future, do you care what people say about the food your serving them?
I believe the one item that annoys us the most is listening to the horror stories of folks, who, for the most part are having one party, and their food comes late, you have to heat up, the quality is atrocious and insufficient. The best of all are the caterers who cancel parties at the last moment????
And, as of October, 2011 Sporty's is offering a "Low Price Value Meal". Nothings changed, homemade salads, same size chickens. Sporty's is lowering their prices in some areas to help those companies that would think differently about ordering for their employees. Sporty's is working on a Volumne scenario.
Ask your caterer if:
- You are getting 2.5 - 3 pieces of boneless skinless chicken per person or a thigh and wing or possibly a leg per person?
- Is your Italian beef delivered already in the gravy? Looks and tastes "rubbery"? Sporty's adds the Italian Beef to the hot gravy when we professionally deliver and set up your buffet......
- Is your bread tiny 3" pieces of bread or 4" for a buffet and 5" for a combo pack?
- Do you have to heat up the food when delivered? This is why they give you 2 sternos to "heat" the food....seriously against all Health Department Regulations.......

Our NEW ARTISIAN GOURMET box lunches. More quality, more meats, more of everything and an ORDER SHEET to directly fax back to us. Were anxiously waiting until we are done revamping our menu with several new menu additions....were deciding if we have to rethink our menu design because it needs to be LARGER. ALL after we listened to you, the faithful customer, as to what you wanted to see in the menu.......
We've added a new bakery that delivers freshly made product to our door at 4:00 in the morning. Were constantly striving to bring you the best meats, even at higher costs to us, rather than you having a "disappointing" event. After all, over 90% of Sporty's new orders are referrals. We've done all this so that you the consumer will benefit by it.
All too often corporate folks ask for lower prices, we at Sporty's Catering feel that rather than raising the prices and negotiating them down, they are at a comfortable range for everyone. We continue to increase our quality and quantity of food you receive while maintaining a competitive price.
